Way Too Far

I don’t know what made me do it, but I had us on a route yesterday that was over 400 miles.  I must have had my mind on something else when I made this one.  That is too far for us old people to pull the RV, in one trip.  We were both bitchy and really tired when we arrived.

To make matters worse this RV Park, on a scale of 1-10, would be a 3.  On line it sounded perfect, but when we drove in, we knew we had screwed up.  To begin with the office is in the middle of the park instead of at the front like most of the places we have been to.  Then to top it off, I pulled clear up to the office and come to find out it is a dead end, so I had no place to turn this big rig around.  The sign that tells you to pull up the hill, instead of down to the office, is not in plain site, so I didn’t even see it.  This is a Pass Port America Park, and I guess for full hook-ups and 50 amps its not too much at $140.00 a week.  They advertise WiFi, but you have to go to the office to get on line.  I hate that.  I like getting a coffee in the morning, and while still in my pj’s, answer my emails and so forth.  So, I guess I will write my blogs here at the RV and then run up there to post them.

I won’t be able to leave any comments this week on all my favorite blogs, but I will get caught up with everyone when I am back on line in the comfort of my own home.

After we leave here we will be going back to Tell City, In. for a few days.  I have been having a little bit of trouble with my heart and feel I need to see the Doctor, so I will do that before we head on back to Indy.

I will post a few pictures of this RV Park, but I don’t really like posting the name of a place that I  would not recommend.  If any of you would like the name, email me, and I will gladly share the info with you.

As you can probably tell, most of these RV’s are here permanently.  Most don’t look that bad, but some have that worn-out look.  Maybe I am just tired, but I don’t think parks should be allowed to advertise things they don’t really have.

Going to get off here and scare up something to eat.  She also advertised nice places to eat.  All we can find is a Quick Pick type of place that sells beer and chips.

Stay safe….

Yep, that looks like one of the many reasons we steer clear of RV Parks alright!!

You are right the place looks a little run down.

Hope things go well with the doctor.

I've made a meal out of beer and chips a time or two. I think they contain darn near all the food groups.

I agree with you about misleading and downright untruthful advertising of RV parks, but you can hardly believe any advertisement at all when you get right down to it.

Hope all it well with your heart.

it's only for short time at least!!..400 miles seems like alot for one day1..and then when you get to the destination and it's not what you thought it was going to be..makes for a grumpy day!!..take it easy!!

Pidge, We hope you are OK and will keep you in our thoughts.

We all run across parks like this occasionally. Our last one was back in April just before we arrived at this fine location for the summer. Hopefully such experiences will remain rare!

Hugs,

Gordon and Juanita

It is really sad when people advertise incorrectly. It certainly makes for a huge disappointment.
Hope you find everything ok with your heart when you see your doctor. We will certainly keep you on our positive thoughts list.

Take care!

Hmph. Sorry to hear about that park! I hope the rest of your time spent there goes smoothly, at least. :(

And I really hope everything turns out OK at your doctor's appointment. Be well and safe travels!

I hope you were able to get some rest and I hope that your heart is all right Pidge Take it kind of easy for a while, ok?

$140.00 per week sounds a little high to me for that particular park, from what you've said. JMHO

Oh my goodness, girl. What were you thinking with 400+ miles in one day. You need a week to recuperate after that. :) Hope all is well with your ticker.
