No Credit Cards Please

This has been a different experience for us.  We thought we would run into  Spring Valley for a nice sit-down breakfast.  We had noticed yesterday that there was a couple of little family cafes`, so thought we would try one out.  It was not to be.  No one in this town takes a credit card but the service stations.  They will gladly take one, but no where else.  I am ashamed to tell you we only had $13.00 between us in cash, and that won’t buy breakfast and a tip, so we went to Subway.  They have a delicious breakfast sandwich, so we settled for that.  If you haven’t tried their breakfast sandwich yet, you should.  They are really good.

We also put a tiny little bit of gas in our diesel truck this morning.  I was beside myself, but my very laid-back Hubby said, “not to worry”.  You can put gas in our diesel and not hurt it.  He must be right, cause we didn’t have any trouble with it.  I will surely not make a habit out of it though.

We took a long walk this morning before the rain started.  We walked all around the grounds and then went as far down as we could go, along the river.  We saw a muskrat, but he was too quick for me, so I didn’t get a picture.  I did take a few other pictures to share with you.

Don’t forget if you click on the pictures you can enlarge them…

I also passed another mile-stone today.  I talked to my step daughter, Mickie over the internet on the web cam.  She could see me, and I could see her.  I don’t think either one of us can explain how we did it, but we did it.  More on her side than on mine. We can now say we are living in the 21st century… :)

I did get hold of Uncle Boone yesterday, while we were in town, but only for a minute.  The phone service here is almost nil.  He does have a urinary tract infection and is being treated, but his blood count is still up to 9.7.  Then the call was dropped.  My daughter has been trying to reach us for days and was worried, but I sent her an email last night and assured her all is well.

Thanks to my 2 new followers, Rollie Thurston and John Souva Jr.  I do appreciate each and everyone of you.  Also, thanks Mikki for the comment.  It is good to know some of my loyal readers from my other blog are riding along.

Stay safe.

Don't know the make of your truck, but gas can be death to a diesel, if you put less than a gallon and then topped the tank off with #2 fuel it might smoke a little and be ok, but the new now ones have computers and sensors and that might cause a problem, hope you are lucky and have no trouble, be safe out there. I hope those fuels get along while they're mingling inside your tank! If it was just a tiny bit, you should be alright. Cross my fingers for ya.

Oh, I cannot begin to tell you how much I adore that barn. :) Those gambrel roofs get me every time!
