Two Exciting Days

I first would like to thank everyone who sent us prayers and good thoughts for the health and welfare of our family right now.  I received many private wishes and many comments alike.  Thank you from my whole family.

I am sorry to report that my brother has not improved, in fact may have slipped farther away from us.  He has for the last few weeks only been receiving transfusions every couple or three weeks, but this week it was only 3 days in between.  His specialist, Dr. Sayer, is quite concerned and has set up an appointment with another specialist, so now we wait to see what the new Doctor has to say.  I never really knew how draining this would be.  It seems all of my energy has been knocked completely out of me.  Just a few hours of dealing with this and I feel like I have spent 12 hours at my old job.

We did have a couple of really nice surprises this week though.   Wednesday I was sitting at the computer, with the doors and the windows open, and someone hollered in the door and said “is anybody home”?  You could have knocked me over with a feather when I saw my best Buddy and my little brother, Herby standing there.  I was so glad to see them.  It has been a very hard decision on my part about sharing with my siblings just how bad I feel Uncle Boone is getting, but was afraid if I didn’t and something would happen, I would regret it the rest of my life.

We of course, spent lots of time with him and then went out for a good meal at O’Charleys.  I did screw up on which one to go to, and ended up driving clear across Indy.  We all had a good laugh about that though.  They spent the night with us on Wednesday and some time with our brother on Thursday and then headed back yesterday.  Thanks for coming you guys.  We love you very much.

Just as they were getting ready to leave, I got a call from our baby sister, Jean and her husband.  They too were in Indy and wanted to know how to get to the RV.  After a few attempts they found it, and then we all headed over to spend some time with Uncle Boone.  They spent the night also, and then we went out to eat breakfast with my brother this morning.  He was really pale, and barely touched his food, but I knew he wanted to spend time with them.  We went back to my cousin’s house and visited till I knew he needed to lay down.  They too left right after we got back home.  He loves you all so much and appreciates the visits.

Want to welcome my newest follower, ezrablu.  I hope you enjoy reading our site.  Hers is really cute and I love reading it.

I have been trying my best to catch up with all my favorite blogs this afternoon.  It really eases my mind to be able to find a little joy in each of them.  I tried what Rick has suggested in his blog about the comments, but don’t know if I did it right or not.  I am always afraid I will click the wrong thing and lose everything, but you live and learn.  My heart still bleeds for George, and I don’t know how he does everything that he does, but hope all turns out in the end for him.  Al is always good to lift your spirits, and I never go too many days without reading Gypsy.  She always lifts my spirits.  There are many more, but too many to list them all.  Thanks to each and everyone of you.

I will catch you later…. :)

My heart cries for what you are going through. It is so difficult to watch a loved one suffer. You,and Boone, will have the strength to get through this until it is time for him to leave for the place he's lived for a long time.

Like others have already said, you are certainly experiencing some difficult times. It's great to see you're family rallying around though and I'm sure that's a welcome comfort to you.

You are doing a good thing, Pidge. Be strong, even though it's very hard. :( Take some time for yourself, and breath deeply...

The comment thing worked great.

I know how draining it all can be, we went through the same kind of ordeal. The reason we began our full-timing here earlier than we had planned, my baby brother at 40, passed away after a few months of an agonizing disease. Then a year later my mother had only a few months warning and she was gone too. Then one more year Jerry's father was gone too.

The pain never goes away, but it does ease after a few years. We felt drained all the time for such a long time but then we began making our dreams come true so we would not end our lives with our dreams unfulfilled.

Our prayers are with you and your family and hope you all come through these rough days with some good news.
