We totally forgot our Anniversary. We were married 19 years ago, on the 25th of October. I was busy taking my brother to his Doctor’s appointments, and so forth, and since I wasn’t giving Donnie any hints about what I wanted this year, he forgot too. My best Buddy called me that night and wished us a Happy Anniversary or we still probably wouldn’t have remembered. Anyway, we decided to go out and have a good lunch to celebrate. We went to O`Charley’s again. I just can’t get enough of their Fish and Chips and Donnie got the very large Pepper Steak sandwich. We both had to get a to-go box for what we couldn’t eat. They have the best fresh bread and butter to start your meal, and we both always fill up on it. Thanks again Willie for turning us on to this great place.
My best Buddy and my son both had a birthday on the second. I don’t think Willie would appreciate my sharing her age, but my son was 39. It just doesn’t seem possible that I could have a baby that old. But, I do, so I’ll just have to learn to deal with it… :)
I got a message on face book from my Grand daughter last night. She says Mom and Dad won’t help her get a year book, and she really, really, really wants one. So, should Grandma spring for it or not? She has had a little trouble this year, and I don’t want her, in any way, to misconstrue my getting it for her to say that I condone what she did. What would you do? I love her dearly and already do more for her than I did for the boys, so I really don’t know what to do…
Both pictures are her.
We heard from Donnie’s sister yesterday, and her surgery went fine. They don’t think that any of the cancer spread to any of her lymph nodes, so that was really good news. She may still need to have some kind of treatment, but the Doctor’s haven’t told her what yet. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers. We love her a lot.
I also grabbed a couple of pictures off of face book of my Great Grandson, Mason and one of his Mom, Dad and the Spooky Dude.
I went out and took a picture of my mum cause we had ice on our windshield this morning, so I know it will be turning brown pretty soon.
Not much else going on. We are still going over to the mall and walking in the mornings. Tomorrow I will be taking Uncle Boone to get his count checked, and then we have a lunch to go to on Friday, and the kids are coming up Friday night.
BTW, that cornbread and chili was very good last night. Really hit the spot on a nice, cool, fall day. Don’t know what I will fix tonight. We may just eat our leftovers from lunch. Catch you later… :)

Go ahead and spring for the yearbook. Grandparents don't have to follow the same rules and restrictions that parents do - we had enough of that when raising our own kids. You can always let her know that the yearbook is because you love her so much, and not because of her behavior, good or bad. My 2 cents!
By the way, I forgot to wish you a happy belated anniversary! Oh, and I like your new header picture also.
Happy Anniversary! My vote is to help with the Yearbook too as it is a worthy cause. Just make sure to tell your granddaughter you hope she will think of you every time she opens it. Not because you are helping her to buy it, but because you want her to do well and make good choices in life.
I agree with the others about the yearbook as long as it is not going to cause a problem with her parents. I would think it would not.
I too like your picture of the harvest bounty...where did you find it. I would like to get something like that for my blog page...I would like to make it some type of Fall background but not sure how to go about that.
Did you just make the regular chili recipe or do you have a special one. We like chili and I am always trying to find new recipes to try besides my ole stand by.
Have a blessed day!
I am with Ali on the yearbook. I would get it for her as long her parents do not object.
On the show tickets, they were $40.00
Ditto on Gypsy's thoughts about the year book, but that gives you the chance to bring up her behavior and tell her that she almost nixed any help! But that's what grandparents are for. If her mom says no, then you will have to live with that for sure.
Anniversaries are just passing marks on the wall, but celebrations are for anytime! LOL
I think A quick consultation with the parents would be a good idea and then spring for it with their blessing and like the rest have said an request to try harder, with better choices, Be Safe out there. Sam & Donna.
Happy Anniversary!! Mike and I will be celebrating our 28th this month. I hope I don't forget, hehehehe
Yep, I agree with all the others. Help her with the yearbook. Its a special thing but you might have a chat with her about her behavior.
Happy Anniversary!
I'm with the others...get the yearbook but express your feelings about her behavior. Just let her know how much you love her.
Happy Anniversary...
Go with Sam & Donna and let the parents say "grandma wants to help". That way the parents can express their wishes to daughter and all will be winners.
Mac & Dianna
happy belated anniversary!!..I also agree with the helping with the yearbook..what else are grandparents for!!??
Congratulations on your anniversary!
I think I would spring for the yearbook. It's a one time thing since she'll only be in the grade she's in this one time, right? Maybe it could be her Christmas present if you do gifts for them then. Just seems like there might have been something else she could have had taken away or not been given other than this.
I'm now stepping down off my soapbox.....
Happy Anniversary! Better put it on your calendar for next year. I would definitely make the yearbook a gift, and make sure you aren't undermining her parents' discipline.
As an aside, forty years ago, I didn't buy my high school yearbook because I thought it was too expensive. I have regretted that decision ever since then! I made sure I bought my college yearbooks, and then a few years ago I got rid of them all when we downsized. Go figure!
Belated happy anniversary!
As for the yearbook? I would definitely check with the parents first. They probably have a very good reason for denying her the purchase and you don't want to undermine their authority. However, if they give the OK, then buy it!! :)
Happy Anniversary!
If the parents are against buying the yearbook could you possibly get it quietly for yourself. That way she would have it later on.
