Leaves Are Falling, And So Are My Spirits

I don’t have a whole lot of news to report.  I did see the Specialist on the 26th, but he wants a chance to study my records from my hospital stays, and he wants a chance to more thoroughly read all of the Doctor’s notes.  His educated guess is that it may be IBS, a functional bowel syndrome, or non-ulcer dyspepsia. He has suggested trying a couple of different medications on me, but wishes to wait until he gets all information read.  He also made strong suggestions about stress and anxiety, which he feels brings these conditions on. I know since Donnie’s strokes I have had to do all the driving, and at times this has been very stressful.  Also taking care of someone you love ,and watching them die right before your eyes, has been my hardest challenge in my life.

We did get our remodeling finished, and I have a couple of pictures to share with you.  We also replaced our hide-a-bed couch for a double reclining couch, and we love it.  We also had our dinning chairs and stools recovered.  I had the seat part of all of these covered in a very heavy clear plastic.  We are old, and we dribble, so hope this takes care of being able to wipe them down with no damage to the material.  Some of you may think this is a bit fanatical, but it works for us.  The floor is so much easier for us to take care of.  We just run a swiffer over it every day to stay ahead of our Rusty’s fur. I also  bought a corner desk, which gives us a little more room.

I also would like to welcome my newest followers, and apologize for taking so long to do it.  The first are Carolyn, Pamela, and Ralph.  I couldn’t find sites for you, so please, if you have one, share it with me.  The next is Gail, and then Wendy.  I have not felt like reading blogs for a while, but as soon as possible I will check these two out.

I hate that my blog has turned into a health blog, but wanted to share with you that our hearts have been broken.  Our little Rusty has cancer on his face.  We have been taking him to the vet, and he is doing what he can, but Rusty will probably need surgery.  It is on his face, very close to his nostrils.  So far it hasn’t affected his eating or drinking.  He still is the craziest, wound-up dog he has always been.  I would love to hear from any of you that may have gone through any thing like this with your dog.

Hope all of you have a great fall, and we are still undecided about our future travel plans.  It will all depend on what my Doctors do about this illness.

Stay safe out there.  :)

It's good to read your update, Pidge. Your new floor and other updates look great. I'm sorry to hear about your continuing health problems, including Rusty's cancer. You have many online friends out here in blogville who care about you! I'm praying for you.

Good to hear from you again. The renovation looks great. We had a Cocker Spaniel that had a cancer on her lip. We had it removed and it never came back although they thought it probably would.

I love the renovations and think the floor is the best! I always wanted something that would be easy to get dog hair from. So sorry to hear about Rusty. If they can remove the cancer, he is probably young enough to survive and thrive. Good luck with that.

Now, for you. You are entirely too young to give up! I know you've been through so much grief during the past year or so. Have you considered counseling? I say that, although I've never found anyone who counseled me worth a darn - I do better on my own. But it might be worth a try. I think about you a lot, and will keep sending love and good vibes your way.

WE have been trying to decide what to do about the floor in our Motorhome. Carpet everywhere except the Galley has wood.
Considering Vinyl or something similar. Carpet is a mess and troublesome.

Your new look is nice.

Enjoy following your blog.

We've missed you, Pidge. So glad to hear from you. Changing things around in the rig is a good way to take your mind somewhere else for a little while. We'll say our prayers for you and for Rusty. Bet that little guy is stubborn and feisty enough to get well and prove the doctors he's got lots of life left in him!

Hello Pidge,
I to have missed you. Its sounds like this new Dr. is going to make sure of all the facts before he starts any meds. A lot of Drs just start giving out meds and not even sure for what or why. I wish you the best and don't let it get you down and don't even think of giving up you have a lot of life to live still.
I hope Rusty will be well also.
Your new floor and other fixes are really nice.
I send my best wishes to all of you.

Your reno's are looking great. Kevin replaced part of our carpet new carpet and part with a fake wood floor. Lots of work but looks so much better now. Hope you are feeling better. Have you asked the doctor about a possiblity of having problems with gluten. I lost 15lbs in a matter of months last year and had diarrhea. Once I started on a gluten free diet I started doing much better. Sure hope Rusty will be OK, we just lost Whiskey and know how sad that can be.

Hi Pidge, So good to hear from u but sorry ur having so much medical mess...sounds like a good doctor tho because as someone mentioned earlier, lots of times, they just hand out meds without searching for what's really wrong. Like ur renovations! Was shocked about Rusty's condition but with his age and health I really do feel that he will do well. Hopefully this medicine will take care of it and he will pop back to himself. He's such a sweetheart! U sure have had a lot on u and it seems the stress keeps building...I'm hoping u can find something u like that will take ur mind off all these negative things...reading, crocheting, working puzzles, etc. Maybe yoga??? Not the standing on ur head kind, just the easy poses and breathing techniques. I hope u and Don will give all this a little time before u decide to give up the traveling....I realize it's easy for me to say cause I'm not in ur shoes but I think things will get better once they set a course of action and get u to feeling better. It's hard to see much of a future when ur in pain. Our prayers are with u, Don and Rusty...join me in my "one day at a time" way of thinking dear friend cause a day truly can change things. Hope u start to see the light at the end of this tunnel real soon. We love y'all!
